Residence of “agbaa ji3n naa” in Ablekuma complain about the difficulty in getting water since they are not connected to pipe.

According to madam Efia a hairdresser and a resident, they have complained about it severally to the media but yet nothing has been done about it. madam Efia says she buys water from car tankers to sell and that she sells according to the size of bucket or bowl used in fetching the water. she also added that there are fortunate ones with pipe and these are the wealthy ones who have connected pipes from poly tanks and that they also get water from these same cars to fill their poly tanks.

Mommy another resident of the area said since they cannot   afford to buy from the cars they rather buy from the individuals who have bought from the cars to sell to them.

The residents then said they will be very grateful if the government will help them solve this situation by providing them with pipe bone water to reduce the stress they go trough in getting water and also reduce financial cost.

OUR ROADS OUR DEATH PATH

By Chloe Anim Addo

It is very sad and painful to see lives lost all because of our bad and poor roads. The rate at which road accidents have increased is very bad, all to the fact that our roads are not well constructed. Roads in this country does not last at all, it either last for a year or two then it goes back to the old way or even worse.

Our roads instead of leading us to our destination rather leads us to death. The lives of good citizens and prominent people have been taken away and to talk of stars like ebony, vibrant fire, Suzy Williams, terry and others. When accidents arrive all, we do is to talk about it for some time, cry and mourn a little and then forget about it, still leaving the roads in their bad state. If we do not solve this issue we will end up loosing more dear lives.

Bad  roads in Ghana are greatly caused by corruption, before the money for construction even gets to the constructer, everyone the money gets to must remove his or her share then after the constructer leaving scanty money for the road construction thereby the constructer does a shoddy work which later on causes great havoc.  Bad roads are also as a result of laziness the laziness of some people show in their work hence doing what will not stress him or her at all. Another fact is that the appropriate things needed for the construction which is faced by financial problems which makes the constructer to use inferior goods for the construction

Lots of things must be done to help solve the problems of bad roads. We citizens and our leaders must stand up to fix all damages and also make sure quality goods and equipment’s are used in constructing the roads. People who are capable of laying out roads should help be it financial or physical support. We should not wait for politicians to come and use these roads for their manifestoes but rather do something about it if we can.

Some wealthy people and leaders have houses in areas which roads are bad but yet they do not do anything leaving the roads the way they are because of their selfishness and greed which must not be so, anyone who has the resources to help put up a road should do so without waiting for a ruling government to do so, if lots of people help with our roads these accidents caused by our bad roads will be minimized and we will have safe roads to drive on.
